Young people across our Lions District are making a real difference in their communities and again this year Lions Clubs are being asked to identify these young people as candidates for the Lions Young Ambassador of the 21st century Award.
The scheme is open to young people aged 15-18, nominated by a Lions or Leo club and offers an opportunity not only to gain recognition locally and nationally, but potentially to progress through to the national and even European finals.
Judges are particularly interested in the candidate’s commitment to community service, alongside their personality, leadership qualities and ability to communicate their passion for helping others.
We raised £1000 for the Great Western Air Ambulance service via our recent Duck Race.
We had lots of fun at our Duck Race at Keynsham Music Festival on the 4th July.
Although some of us are 'laying down' on the job!
We have been at Somerset Square, Nailsea promoting the club and looking for volunteers to join our proposed Nailsea Hub. Thank you to everyone that took the time to speak to us and fill out our Community Needs Questionnaire. We will also be at the same location on various Saturdays throughout the year. Our very own President, Lion Sally Marsh recently won 3 categories in our District 105SW photo competition; well done Sally!
A cold but bright morning to join Keynsham Wombles on their 1st litter pick of 2026, starting from The Lock Keeper. Pictures show just some of the rubbish collected in an hour and a quarter. We then joined everyone for coffee and cake and a good catch up.
A huge thanks to customers and staff at Tesco, Keynsham today for all your donations and interest in the South West UK Lions club and our Christmas charity collection.
We were at the Keynsham Winter Festival with Santa.
We were at Marksbury Car Boot Sale. It's was a lovely day and the last sale of 2025. We were selling art & craft items, books, bags, jigsaws and games. As always, all proceeds will go to support local charities and community groups.
A few boxes of spectacles collected from opticians in Zone K waiting to be delivered to Lions National HQ in Birmingham, where they will be sorted ready to be sent to countries where they are needed. Our thanks to opticians in Bath, Cheddar, Emersons Green, Frome, Glastonbury and Street, Keynsham, Radstock and Midsomer Norton and Wells, who collect spectacles for Cheddar Vale, Frome, Glastonbury and Street, Radstock and Midsomer Norton, South West UK and Wells Lions Clubs.
